Made it home - going to bed, night night all

Joci is fine.  She stayed to get more fluids in her.

She's sleepy and nauseous, so we're hanging here for a while.

In true Joci fashion, she is chatting up a storm with her nurse, Bobbie. They've been talking about well-behaved kids recovering from surgery nearby.

Joci loved the flowers from Vicki - Bobbie brought some water to keep them fresh.

Joci reports that her stomach feels like she did many situps - some pain meds are coming to relieve that.

It feels like I did a whole bunch of sit-ups.

I want the kid to be okay [referring to a nearby kid who woke up crying.]

How long until laughing or crying doesn't hurt?

Running? Awesome. I'd like clothes if I run around the building.

She's fine - out of surgery and slowly waking up

Joci is doing well - the surgeon told me the surgery went well - no problems. She's sleeping and gradually waking up. Her one comment thus far to me was that she is enjoying the drugs.

Pink and furry replacement - meet Ute

When Joci wakes up, I don't want her to feel a sense of loss. Thus, I've brought her a gift of Ute. Ute is better than uterus - he doesn't bleed, and he's pink and furry instead of pink and slimy.

Momma Vicki has flowers waiting for her baby girl Joci when she wakes.  Here's a preview:

She has gone into the operating room

She has gone into the operating room and should be out in two or three hours. The surgeon will give me a call when they are done.

The show will start soon

A series of very friendly doctors have come by and introducd themselves and the show should start soon. Joci has been dancing around because she is tired of sitting.

Just met Doctor Sullivan

Doctor Sullivan, a resident who will be helping with the surgery, just came by and briefed us on the procedure, timing and recovery.  J will head into surgery in about 30-40 minutes and the surgery should go about 2-3 hours. She'll come home tonight with pain meds - she can eat tonight if she feels like it.

Hey. It has been a nice, lazy day so far. I'm wearing a new paper gown with an air conditioner built in and super cool non-slip hospital socks.
Nurse Jackie (yes, that is her real name) gave me an IV so I am now getting Gatorade through a tube and I'm not hungry anymore.
I get a personal TV while I wait, and I've got to say that daytime TV without a DVR is so-so.
I'm glad to have Mike here since surgery is delayed for some reason and I'm still waiting in the pre-op area. I'm looking forward to getting this over.

Joci reports that the IV line is cold, and she asked me to write it down to remember it.

She was getting too warm, so they hooked up air-conditioning to her fancy hospital gown.

Haven't seen the surgeon yet.
